Champei

Champei's ears perked up as someone touched her shoulder. Whirling around she came face to face with Amal. "Hiya Amally!" she barked brightly. "You haven't missed much at all, we're just meeting some new wolves." She grinned happily at him. Glancing over at the other male who she had greeted just before. Wagging her tail she replied to his question about the hunting party. "Yep we sure are going to go hunting."

The russet female tilted her head wondering why Amal had nodded to her. Watching as he trotted off she saw the female who he approached. Grinning she wagged her tail, happy to see yet another face. Turning to face Maple as she came over, Champei grinned brightly, finally knowing this female's name. Before she could reply to the female's questions, however, Maple was walking away. "Hey wait!" The russet female leapt after her red and white counterpart. "This is the Silver Hollows Pack," she told Maple walking alongside the female.

"Anthem, what about you?"

Amal smiled at the Anthem and answered her question. "My name is Amal, and Anthem is a very pretty name." He rushed the last to words hoping that she didn't hear them, but before he could say anything else he was interrupted by a hungry growl coming from his stomach, he was embarrassed.

"Gosh! I'm sorry, I just haven't eaten in a while! Would you like me to escort you to one of the Alphas or the Betas and introduce you?" Amal looked around and saw that only Champei was present and that from where he was he could no longer see Ethan. Waiting for Anthems response, he sat down feeling rather hungry.

Anthem

"My name is Amal, and Anthem is a very pretty name."

Under her fur, Anthem blushed. She shivered, a warm feeling consuming her, and grinned. "Thank you," she said in a hushed tone. "And it's very nice to meet you, Amal," she added with a cheerful aspect of her words. She stood silently for a moment as Amal glanced around, but the silence was immediately broken by a somewhat muffled growling sound. "Gosh! I'm sorry, I just haven't eaten in a while! Would you like me to escort you to one of the Alphas or the Betas and introduce you?"

Anthem nodded her head and giggled,"That'd be great!" Taking a step closer to the male, she waited for him to lead the way down the hill. She felt comfortable now, but decided she shouldn't raise her hopes too high.

"His name isn't Ian, Silly!"
"But please, don't let me get in the way of a hunt. In fact, mind if I join in?

Ethan looked to Champei, she seemed to not
understand the purpose of the nickname that Portia
had given to him. He chuckled slightly as the
tawny female insisted on helping out in the hunt he gave
a nod of approval. There was no harm in letting an old friend help out.

Ethan gave a stare around at all the new wolves that
had intruded on the territory. He stood tall,
centred to the pack. "Now listen here, all those that
intrude upon my grounds. If you wish to join us, Join the
Silver Hollows, You may assist in the hunt, and show us your
loyalty, your skills. Otherwise you are to depart our
territory this moment!"
His voice was loud
and stern. But it was welcoming to those that
wished to join. He turned and gave a small
wink to Portia. She was welcome
here regardless of what she wanted.

At the boom of the alpha's voice, Anthem's ears twitched. She flattened them against her skull slightly and began to shiver. She shot a nervous expression at Amal, then took a deep, shaky breath, turned back, and began treading down the hill toward the bunch of unfamiliar wolves. Her heart pounded as she came nearer and nearer toward them. She perked her ears up, but kept her tail tucked, and did her best to avoid eye contact with any of the members, which wasn't easy, since she could barely see them. Regardless, the moment she reached them, she stood tall with her eyes on the ground and tail still partially tucked. Clearing her throat, Anthem barked, "I would really, truly love to be a part of your pack... but may I ask a question?". She hesitated a moment before going on. "... If I'm a lousy hunter... but I do try to help with all m-my being... would that still be loyalty?"

Ethan looked to the white she-wolf. He gave a friendly,
warm smile and took a step towards her. His tail flicked
as he looked over the female. She was thin but had well-muscled
legs. Her white pelt was short and dense, good for protection.

Ethan cleared his throat, and sat as he spoke directly to the female.
"If you are a lousy hunter, but still do try your best, of course
you'd be accepted, and owning up to such straight up has already
earned you kudos my friend. If in the hunt you do try your best, that is
the best form of loyalty that anyone or anything can show."
he
gave the female a quick wink. Ethan then got to his paws
and turned around, he looked over the wolves over his shoulder
before trotting down the hillside towards the elk.

They would need to be closer to pick their target.

Theo observed the wolf who had spoken, Ethan, carefully. He guessed he must be the alpha, by the way he had spoken. His tail continued to sway, and his eyes narrowed. He hadn't chased Theo away, so he must be at least willing to give Theo a chance. Or it could be a trap...

Nonetheless, Theo grinned slyly. "You want me to join you on the hunt, you say? Well, I'd be more than happy to join you... of course," he said smoothly. He had his experience with hunting, but he didn't see why he should help them if they were only going to chase him away.

She was welcome here regardless of what she wanted.

The tawny female grinned as she attained the meaning of his wink - she loved being the exception to the rule. She rolled her shoulders and stretched out her lean muscles as Ethan talked with a white she-wolf about loyalty and enlisted the help of a few others before beginning the trek down the slight hill towards the herd. With a quick shake of her pelt, Portia was the first to follow after him, ears pressing forward and nose twitching as she began to feel her body fall into the rhythm of the hunt.

It wasn't long before her shoulder was in line with his, though she kept a few meters distance as she slunk through the grass to give a different vantage point in scouting out the elk. Her eyes flicked to his in an indication that she was ready to follow orders - well, if those orders suited her - for it was not the first time they had hunted together.

Jaw locked and eyes trailing their prey as she crouched in the grass, she waited for guidance.

He saw Anthem's nervous smile, yet he knew she had nothing to worry about. Ethan was a good leader and as long as she was honest, nothing would go wrong for her. He nudged her slightly and was by her side the whole time forgetting about his stomach until it yet again growled.

Looking at Portia, he understood that something now energetic will about to begin and looking around again he saw the slow moving elk that everyone chose. Amal wiggled his tail and rolled out his tongue. "Shall we get started?" He looked over to Ethan in anticipation of that one signal that will set it off.

At the male's words, and gesture with his eyes, Anthem knew she would be alright. She turned to Amal, a bright smile on her face. She wagged her tail ferociously for a moment before all seriousness consumed her. Eagerly, the she-wolf followed after Ethan and the others, trying to stay as close to the front as possible. Her ears were flat against her skull; her tail tucked. She focused her gaze on the elk ahead, every muscle in her body trembling slightly with tension. Every other second, she would glance over her shoulder to make sure Amal was there the whole time, then give a slight smile and return her attention ahead of her. She anticipated a cue of some kind as she stalked forward. Anthem didn't want to make any mistakes, though she knew she probably would. All her hope was building up inside her. She inhaled deeply and waited.

Lyssa’s mind was over-whelmed with the uproar and abrasive appearances of such a large number of strangers. She remained silent, her eyes following the erratic movements of the excited wolves, although she did not listen intently. Instead she let the words float by her head without a thought about them, elk her running through her mind instead. She had since moved to follow Ethan closely, her paws ghosting the ground, her senses piqued by the increasing proximity of the elk which her stomach gnawed for.

She awaited Ethan’s word.

Maple made cautious eye contact with Champei, “I suppose that means I am accepted.” She said to the russet fae beside her, though acknowledging Ethan’s statement. The crimson fae looked at her cheery acquaintance, “that is a nice name for a pack.” Her voice stated finality, though Maple was beginning to enjoy the company of Champei.
“Tell me, fae, what rank do you hold here? I would like to know.” She tried to keep the conversation up as best she could, but her attempts were weak as Mai had lost all touch with wolves and conversation-making with them. The female wondered which title she would gain through the loyalty she showed. What if Maple couldn’t gain enough respect to pass omega? Worried thoughts passed though her mind but she shook them off and turned back to Champei to await her answer.

Ethan looked over the wolves as each and
every one of them seemed to be ready and awaiting his word.
Though a dark male had a sly grin, Ethan ignored it for now, if need be
he could deal with the wolf later. And thus, with that the steely, and orange
toned male started to turn and head down the hill.

"Come on then you lot, lets get moving, We'll need to be
closer to pick out our target"
His ears flicked. He gave a yawn and
a mild stretch of his legs before continuing on down the hill at a steady trot, towards the elk. Once at a good range Ethan sat and waited. Waiting on the
others to catch up to him.

Theo watched as the pack's alpha turned and walked down the hill. He narrowed his eyes at him. Theo wasn't sure whether or not he liked this wolf yet, but he would wait. He would find out soon enough. He followed Ethan down the hill, moving at a steady pace, until he reached him. His torn ear was twitching, but he ignored it. It seemed to twitch a lot more than he would like these days.

"So then... alpha. What is it that we would be hunting?" he said smoothly, his face retaining the sly grin.

Lyssa followed Ethan a few tail lengths behind him, her lope revealing her excitement. Hunts were the only time which she allowed herself to be completely consumed by primal instinct. It was enjoyable to indulge every now and again. However she was still wary of the new wolves, and her glances kept striding towards the black male [Theo] closest to Ethan. A nervousness bubbled in her chest as she examined the proximity of this wolf to her alpha, though she attempted to ignore it, rationalizing that the male would have hurt Ethan already if that was his cause.

"
So then... alpha. What is it that we would be hunting?"

Elk.” She answered without thought, immediately regretting her answer as she realized he was not addressing herself. Her ears fell back, and she screwed her face into a frown. Lyssa maneuvered herself to follow farther behind the two, hopefully discouraging herself from answering out of turn again. Mentally scolding herself, she sighed. Lyssa's excitement had diminished, though she attempted to regain it by casting her eyes on the elk which they were about to hunt, only succesfully mustering a smile.

Theo flinched when he realised that there was someone close behind him. Snarling, he turned to face the female that had approached them from behind. Relaxing his face into a sneer, he turned away to speak to Ethan.

"Elk."

Theo turned to look back at the female behind him. She was looking at the elk with a slight smile on her face. Rolling his eyes, he turned away from her, not bothering to answer her. He kept watching the alpha carefully, a sneering expression on his face, watching in case he decided to turn on him.

The skies had begun to grow dark as the Ivory femme made her way towards the hunting grounds looking for anything out of the ordinary. The day began to change from a light, soothing and calm sunrise, to a dull and grey mystical rainstorm, and the air had a particular smell to it that made Genevieve a little puzzled. Was the late summer coming to an end already? Time had traveled quickly without the Gene realising. Her hazel pools scanned the lands untill she came across the Alpha, Lyssa and male she was not familiar with. Before she could speak the fae caught scent of an elderly elk and it soon caught her field of vision. "Looks like one has strayed from the herd, An old one with little meat, though a little food is better than none at all right?" Awaiting Ethan's orders Genevieve perched herself just ahead of the trio of wolves, making sure she didnt loose sight of the prey.

Lyssa was taken aback by the coldness sweeping off the black stranger, though she composed her face quickly. She was not one to be treated in such a manner, and instinct told her to make a fuss, and demand an apology. Second thought told her better, and instead she bit her tongue, and feigned ignorance.
Genevieve strut ahead then, which brought a smile to Lyssa’s face. Lyssa enjoyed her company, and she watched as Genevieve loped ahead of Ethan, Theo and herself.
Looks like one has strayed from the herd, An old one with little meat, though a little food is better than none at all right?
Lyssa quickened her pace, and shoved past Theo, to join Genevieve.
"
Yes." She agreed, and turned her head to Ethan for direction, once again.

Maple shook her head and trotted away from Champei until she was caught up with the wolves, beside Ethan, stalking the elk. "Which one are we going to get?" she asked quietly, her voice little more than a whisper. She opened her maw slightly to allow the grassy plain's scents in, she could smell rabbit, but Mai had eaten far too many hares and small prey of late. The second smell to reach her was the elk, 'There's something I've missed,' she thought with a smile and waited for Ethan's order.

Quickly switching into an attacking stance, Gen became impatiant upon awaiting Ethans orders, and as per she decided to switch herself on for the remaining time the band of wolves had to hunt. It was getting dark, instinct kicked in, If the band were to not hunt at all, that would mean no food and although the femme had eaten her fill for the day the others had yet to be fed. "Alright, On my signal. Ethan seems a little dazed at the moment and im most certain the four of us can take this elder down within seconds. Once I signal Lyssa and Maple you begin the sprint, tier out the prey and when the time is ready Theo I'de like you to delive the final blow. Got it?"
